LMS celebrates the diverse heritage of the traditional movement

The Latin Mass Society is a member of Una Voce, a worldwide confederation of national and regional organisations dedicated to the traditional Latin Mass. Throughout the Holy Year 2025 the society is holding a series of special Sung Masses in association with other Una Voce groups.

The first of these was held on Monday 20 January in association with Una Voce Nigeria.  Members of the Nigerian diaspora attended a Sung Mass of Bl Michael Tansi, a twentieth century Igbo Nigerian priest, who was beatified by St John Paul II in 1998.

LMS Chairman, Dr Joseph Shaw, commented ''I am delighted to collaborate in this way with our sister organisations in these countries and their ex-patriot communities in London and throughout England and Wales.''.

The Masses are being held at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane in London on or around feast days of particular national importance to these groups. Upcoming Masses include:

Malta: Monday 10 February, 6.30 pm: Mass of St Paul Shipwrecked. In association with Pro Tidentina, the Maltese Una Voce association.

Poland: Monday 5 May, 6.30 pm: Mass of Our Lady Queen of Poland.  In association with Una Voce Polonia, the Polish association.

China and Tiwan: Monday 8 September, 6.30 pm: Mass of the Nativity of Our Lady.  In association with Una Voce Sinica, the Chinese association.

England's own patron saint, St George, will be celebrated with a Sung Mass on his translated feast day, Monday 28 April, 6.30 pm.

Catholic faithful visting Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane, are able to obtain the special Holy Year Plenary Indulgence which has been granted to the church.
