Guild of St Clare Mug

CODE:
GSCMUG

A bone china mug, 84mm high, 75mm in diameter, with a capacity of 280ml, featuring the logo of the Guild of St Clare on each side and the Guild prayer.

The Guild of St Clare was founded in Oxford in 2009. Its purpose is to repair and make the liturgical vestments necessary for the celebration of the traditional liturgy of the Catholic Church, to pass on the skills necessary for this, and to promote domestic sewing.

The Guild Prayer

Jesu, via, veritas et vita, miserere nobis. Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life, have mercy on us.

The Raccolta recommends this prayer with these words:

"The faithful who devote themselves without compensation to the making and repairing of church ornaments and liturgical vestments, either privately or in institutes founded for this purpose, as often as they devoutly recite the above invocation, while engaged in this work, that they may thus sanctify their labour still more, may gain an indulgence of 300 days."

Sacred Penitentiary Apostolic, June 2nd 1933 and June 14th 1949.

This specific indulgence was abolished in the reform of indulgences of 1967. In the current Enchiridion Indulgentiarum, all 'pious invocations' carry a partial indulgence.
