LMS Virtual Walsingham Pilgrimage

Having been forced to cancel our Walking Pilgrimage from Ely to Walsingham this year, the LMS will undertake a 'Virtual Pilgrimage' to Walsingham. Starting from the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden in north London, we shall travel, via Our Lady of the Assumption and English Martyrs in Cambridge, to the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham accompanied by online Masses, devotional talks, rosary, singing and other devotions.

We invite you, where ever you are in the world, to join us for part or all of the pilgrimage.

You can follow the pilgrimage on the Society's YouTube or Facebook page.

Share your experiences!

We really want to hear from you throughout the weekend, whether you are walking or just watching.  Please use facebook, youtube and the strava app to send us your comments, pictures and walking videos for us to share.

Participating by walking

We are also offering the opportunity for pilgrims to walk a part of the way (118 miles in total) by just walking  in their local area or perhaps something more ambitious!  We will be using strava to keep track of walking pilgrims and the cumulative distance travelled.  It is hoped than we can exceed 118 miles several times over; in which case, for each 118 miles travelled - you will get another "virtual pilgrim" to Walsingham!  The map below will be updated with our progress as we go.  Full details on how to sign-up and use strava are available here

Only strava data collected over the Walsingham Pilgrimage (28th - 30th August) will be used in calculating our statistics and reaching our 118 mile target.
