Canonical guidance on Traditionis Custodes

The Latin Mass Society is pleased to present the fruits of our consultations with a number of Canon lawyers.

It is clear to us that many bishops, priests, and lay Catholics, are finding it difficult to see exactly what the force of the Apostolic Letter might be.

It is our hope that the arguments contained in this Guidance will commend themselves to careful readers from across the spectrum of opinion, and contribute to a calm and reasoned discussion.

Some Comments on the Apostolic Letter 'Traditionis Custodes'

This document will be a grave disappointment to those many priests and lay Catholics who responded to the words of Pope St John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, who encouraged the use of the earlier liturgical tradition, calling it a ‘rightful aspiration’ and ‘riches’ for the Church, respectively.

The St Robert Southwell Consort

Consortium Sancti Roberti Southwelli A new polyphonic consort based in London to accompany the Extraordinary Form

The Latin Mass Society is delighted to announce the formation of a new polyphonic ‘consort’—a small choir specialising in the liturgical music of the Renaissance.

Walk in the footsteps of St Thomas More

The walk takes place on the 10th July 2021 from Chelsea to the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden.

Meeting at 9.30 am for Mass (OF) at 10am at Holy Redeemer and St Thomas More, Cheyne Row, followed by a guided tour of places associated with St Thomas More in Chelsea before visiting Tyburn Convent for Mass (Extraordinary Form) at 1 pm, the place of execution of so many Catholic martyrs in this land. Pilgrims then head over to Harlesden to the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden.
