Saint Augustine: Apostle of England DVD
In the year 597AD on the island of Thanet in Kent, a landing took place which would change the course of English history. It was the coming of a holy man, a saint, a man of learning and faith.
His name was Augustine. He brought the Christian gospel from Rome for the new peoples of this island, the Anglo-Saxons. The conversion of their local king Ethelbert would inaugurate a new era, not only of faith, but of culture, art, literature and ultimately the beginning of what we today call England.
Fr Marcus Holden is parish priest and custodian of the newly established Shrine of Augustine in Ramsgate. In this exciting DVD presentation, he guides you on a tour of the story of St Augustine, his mission, his legacy and relevance today.
