AGM and High Mass report

Members of the Latin Mass Society gathered in Westminster Cathedral Hall on Saturday for the AGM. Reports were given by the Chairman, Dr Joseph Shaw (who, in the absence of David Forster, also delivered the Treasurer’s report) and Secretary, Kevin Jones. The guest speaker was the Rt Rev. Mgr Gordon Read, LMS National Chaplain.

Assumption of the BVM

Wednesday (15th) is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation and, to help you filfil the obligation, we have details of more than 50 Masses in the Extraordinary Form around the country. See HERE for details.

Autumn 2018 edition of Mass of Ages

The autumn 2018 edition of Mass of Ages is now available. Members should be receiving their copy this week.

Masses in St Augustine's Shrine, Ramsgate

The St Catherine's Trust's Summer School in Ramsgate starts on Sunday. Masses (which are open to all to attend) will be in the recently restored Shrine of St Augustine.

Sunday 5pm Sung Mass
Monday and Tuesday 12 noon High Mass
Wednesday to Saturday 12 noon Sung or High Mass

Great news from Glastonbury

Thanks to Fr Bede Rowe, the parish priest of Our Lady of Glastonbury, there will more Traditional Masses celebrated than hitherto.

There has been a regular Sunday Mass at 6pm (which will continue) but, with immediate effect, a Low Mass will also be offered at 7.30am each weekday apart from Thursdays. However, in case of cancellations, it is advisable to check glastonburyshrine.co.uk before travelling.

LMS Pilgrimage to Holywell

The LMS Pilgrimage to Holywell took place on Sunday, 1st July 2018, the Feast of the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Canon Tanner ICKSP was celebrant with Canon Montjean ICKSP as deacon and Father Gribben was subdeacon, the Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus chanted the proper. Other music was by Alastair Tocher and the Schola Gregoriana Malverniensis, with Christian Spence on the organ. The team of servers was led by Philip Russell.

EF Mass in Bristol University Chaplaincy

On Sunday, Fr Rupert Allen celebrated the first regular Sunday Mass at 12.30 in the Bristol University Chaplaincy. It was Low Mass with a sermon on the Precious Blood of Jesus. There were around 24 people, several of whom last time went to traditional Mass 40-50 years ago.

A reminder that Fr Allen will lead a Day of Recollection in the Chaplaincy this Saturday, 7th July. See here for details.

SS Peter and Paul

Friday is the feast of the great Saints, Peter and Paul, a Holy Day of Obligation. With more than fifty Masses in the Extraordinary Form being celebrated around the country (including a High Mass in Birmingham and in London), where will you go to Mass? See HERE for details.

LMS Pilgrimage to York

Details have been announced of our pilgrimage to York in honour of St Margaret Clitherow and the York Martyrs.

There is a change to the programme this year. The pilgrimage will start at the Bar Convent, where the Relic of St Margaret Clitherow is kept, and pilgrims will process to St Wilfrid's Church for High Mass, followed by Solemn Benediction. Full details can be found HERE.
