Schellhorn Prize for Sacred Music Composition

The Trustees of the Schellhorn Trust are pleased to announce the 2020 Schellhorn Prize for Sacred Music Composition competition.

Classical pianist Matthew Schellhorn founded the prize in 2014 in memory of his parents to foster artistic endeavour and encourage excellence in the Sacred Liturgy. The inaugural Prize was awarded in 2015 and was won by Marco Galvani. His composition was premiered during the Sacred Triduum organised by the LMS.

Anima eius et animae omnium fidelium defunctorum, per misericordiam Dei, requiescat in pace. Amen.

Summer 2020 Mass of Ages

The summer 2020 edition of Mass of Ages will be delivered to members this week. As churches are currently closed, we are not able to make the magazine available from the many cathedrals and churches around the country as we would normally do. However, if you would like a hard copy, we are still able to post it to you. See here to order.

Mgr Antony Conlon RIP

Of your charity pray for the repose of the soul of Mgr Antony Conlon who departed this life yesterday evening (19th April).

Mgr Conlon, Parish Priest of Our Lady & St John's, Goring-on-Thames, served, among other places, at St Joseph’s, Bunhill Row and The Oratory School in Reading. He was a great supporter of the Traditional Mass and regularly celebrated it at LMS events, including our annual visit to St Augustine’s in Snave in 2017, where this photograph was taken (© Clare Bowskill).

Prayer Resources

With the cessation of public Masses throughout England & Wales, we have put together a catalogue of online resources to assist with private or family devotions at home.

These include resources for the Mass, the Divine Office and a selection of other prayers and devotions.

Also, for the technically minded, we offer suggestions of a few apps that you might find useful.

The resources can be seen HERE.

Streamed Masses

During the present time when public Masses are not celebrated, the LMS has put together a list of churches where the Traditional Latin Mass will be streamed on the internet. Details of churches and times of Mass can be found HERE.
