  • 11am Priestly ordination of Deacons Alex Stewart, FSSP and Krzysztof Sanetra, FSSP by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon of Liverpool
  • 1:30pm Refreshments in Priory Garden – while First Blessings are given by the new priests
  • 2pm Buffet Lunch at nearby venue
  • 5pm Solemn Vespers


Sunday 18 June:

Corpus Christi at Spetchley Park

On Sunday 18th June 2017 (the External Solemnity of Corpus Christi), The Rt Rev. Robert Byrne Cong. Orat., auxiliary bishop in Birmingham, will celebrate Pontifical High Mass in the chapel at Spetchley Park at 10.45am.

Bishop Byrne will be assisted by Fr Anthony Talbot (Deacon) and Fr George Grynowski (Subdeacon).

St Augustine Week in Ramsgate

The annual St Augustine Week festival in the Shrine of St Augustine, Ramsgate takes place from Friday 26th May to Sunday 4th June 2017.

Bringing together people from far and wide, this festival celebrates the richness of culture, history, and religion in England, stemming from the arrival of Augustine of England on Ramsgate’s shores in AD 597.

Our Lady of Compassion, Upton Park

From this Friday, the parish of Our Lady of Compassion, Upton Park in London has a programme of events across three days to welcome the Pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima. There will be Low Mass in the Extraordinary Form at 6.30pm on Friday. A Missa Cantata sung by Cantus Magnus (with music sponsored by the LMS) at 12pm on Saturday and lots more. The church is only 8 minutes walk from Upton Park underground station.

Triduum Celebrations

The Latin Mass Society organised spectacular liturgies for the Sacred Triduum this year. Hosted by Fr Christopher Vipers at St Mary Moorfields, London, the ceremonies were attended by a record number of people.

We thank Fr Michael Cullinan, Fr Patrick Hayward, Fr John Hemer, Mgr Francis Jamieson, Fr Simon Chinery and Fr Christopher Basden who were the sacred ministers. Music was supplied by Cantus Magnus, under the direction of Matthew Schellhorn, the LMS Director of Music for London. We are very grateful to them, and to the team of servers, led by Richard Pickett.

Committee Vacancies

At the time of the Annual General Meeting in June, there will exist a vacancy for the office of Treasurer, and a vacancy for one elected member of the LMS Committee.

Pilgrimage to Fatima

The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest are organising a pilgrimage to Fatima for the centenary of the Apparitions, led by His Eminence Cardinal Burke.

Pilgrims fly from Manchester on Wednesday 1st November 2017, returning on Saturday 4th November.

The cost of the pilgrimage is £480, which includes flights, hotel, most meals and some sight-seeing (Lisbon and Sister Lucy’s convent in Coimbra).

A deposit of £150 is payable upon booking, with the balance due by 30th June. The closing date for booking is 30th April.

Fr Michael Clifton RIP

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Father Michael Clifton, a great supporter of the
Traditional Latin Mass, who died on 23rd February 2017.

Funeral Details:
St Raphael’s Church, St Raphael's Cottage, Portsmouth Road, Kingston-upon-Thames,
Surrey KT1 2NA on Tuesday 28th March at 11.00am.

On Monday 27th March Father Michael’s body will be brought into the church with an Extraordinary Form Mass at 19.00

Masses in the Diocese of Clifton

With the closure this Sunday of Holy Cross Church in Bristol, there have been some discussions between the bishop, diocese, priests and also the faithful who have attended these Masses about the future of the Extraordinary Form Mass in Bristol and nearby area.
